![]() ![]() I will argue that both the empirical medical evidence and the ethics of the doctor–patient relationship point to an alternative approach toward the severely comatose patient (potential brain-dead donor). Are all of these potential donors really dead, or does the documented evidence of patients destined for organ harvesting who improve, or even recover to live normal lives, call into question the premise underlying “brain death”? The aim of this paper is to re-examine the notion of “brain death,” especially its clinical test-criteria, in light of a broad framework, including medical knowledge in the field of neuro-intensive care and the traditional ethics of the medical profession. But, that's my take on things. The “brain death” standard as a criterion of death is closely associated with the need for transplantable organs from heart-beating donors. Danik was over the top enough, he felt like a blood relative of Albert Wesker and any time a game conjures images of "Resident Evil," you've got a problem. Most of it relies on the seemingly spiritual nature of it. The expanded universe has always illustrated how the Marker works and why people form a fascination with and devotion to it. Granted, he is part of an extremist group, but because previous games have done a great deal of showing and hinting, not telling, we were always led to wonder many details about the Unitologists' devotion to this malicious object. Not only does he feel like a poor Bond villain, he provides an unwelcome deeper examination into the Unitologists' philosophy. He is most unwelcome part of the entire plot. Now, as I mentioned in my main review, most of this is very much in line with the previous entries except for Danik. Ergo, we'd see Isaac speaking directly to Ellie if this was the case. ![]() This makes me think Isaac is still alive and Tau Volantis' broken moon is merely one of many like it, which we will inevitably see in "Dead Space 4." A few boards have hypothesized that Isaac is dead and will now haunt Ellie as a spectre, but as the novels have established, the spectres of the Marker are merely psychic manipulations - not actual ghosts. Fans of "Dead Space" may remember the chapter names always spell a message, like "Nicole is dead." "Dead Space 3's" chapter names spell "Brother moons are awake." At the very end, Isaac can be heard uttering Ellie's name. ![]()
